Walk21 Hong Kong is an international, five-day conference co-sponsored by Walk21 a global leader in championing walking – and Civic Exchange – a renowned Asian public policy Think Tank. Walk21 Hong Kong promotes Walking and Liveable Communities and highlights how “pedestrian-first” environments foster economic growth, social inclusion and general health and wellbeing. This forum will bring together over 500 delegates with world-class speakers including city mayors, industry experts, chief executives, civil society organizations and leading academics. The Conference is designed to enable participants to build networks and create an impact on local policy making.

Technology and technology service providers have a large role to play in the walkability of urban societies. That’s why CityTech Awards, the first ever award to celebrate innovations for walking, was created. The goal of the program is to showcase how the integration of “smart” elements into urban settings has changed the modern walking experience.

On day three of the Walk21 Hong Kong Conference (Wednesday, 5 October 2016), we want to recognize outstanding and innovative technological ideas as they relate to walking – from the integration of apps on phones, tablets and wearable gadgets to technologies that encourage new walking habits and anything in between. CityTech Awards is a competition whose theme is “Innovation and Ideas for Implementing Walkability.” Share your ideas with us and gain worldwide exposure!

We are pleased to invite you to submit your “walkability” projects. We welcome both physical and theoretical entries and accept products, prototypes and concept-stage submissions.
